I took over the position of Assistant Director at the Magnetic Resonance Center (MRC) at BC last year, and the majority of my duties are centered on assisting students with their experiments on our EMX-Plus EPR spectrometer. Our lab's focus is on structure/function studies of enzymes using a variety of EPR techniques, with an emphasis on reactive intermediates. We investigate enzymes which utilize amino acid based radicals for catalysis (radical enzymes) as well as systems which lack endogenous paramagnetic species (through the use of spin-labels). Our efforts in instrumentation development are primarily in the areas of high frequency EPR and rapid freeze quench technology.

I am PI of ACERT, which has high-power very sensitive spectrometers for 4- and 5-pulse DEER, DQC, and other pulse sequences in the Ku and Q band range, plus X/Ku and W band 2D-ELDOR for liquid state dynamics, and high-field 95, 170, and 240 GHz for multi-frequency studies of dynamics. We develop new software for dynamics and structural studies and denoising methods for processing data. Our lab is available for spin labeling and sample preparation. We welcome new researchers and users.
