Type: | Terahertz facility |
Spectrometers: | 240 GHz (8.5 T) cw and pulsed EPR (home-built).In pulsed mode, one can use either a solid-state source (~50 mW, ~600 ns Pi/2 pulses) or the MM-wave UCSB Free-Electron Laser (Pi/2 pulses as short as 6 ns have been observed). The 240 GHz spectrometer has a variable temperature insert for measurements down to pumped He temperature.Lasers (532 nm pulsed, 700-1000 nm cw) are available for experiments requiring optical excitation. |
Special Capabilities: | Free-Electron Laser (tunable 0.12-4.8 THz, ~kW peak power).Vector network analyzer with frequency extensions for quasi-optical measurements of components and samples between 70 and 700 GHz.Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometer. |
EPR Techniques: | cw EPR, high-field EPR, pulse EPR, THz EPR |
